Is Carmel Social Media a City site or not?

The number of Councilors that use the site for both self and business promotion and the banning of accepted members that broke no rules of conduct is inexcusable.

The rules of conduct were tough and it was easy enough to get reprimanded for not following them, as an example, they allowed NO PROFANITY which I certainly applaud!

So basically the site didn’t put up with crap. Not a problem for me or 99.5% of Carmelites, although calling crap profanity is Pollyannish at best but they made the rules

I have heard many stories from those banned from Carmel Social Media. The number one reason for being banned seems to be asking questions. Virtually everyone I know that has been banned was in the process of asking a simple question.

This is my story. During a discussion in which the moderator, Greg Cooper, got nasty I was in the process of asking a simple but pointed question. I guess I should have stuck with the Taco Bell contingent, they never get banned. When I tried to post my comment I got the ‘you are no longer welcome in our universe’ message. It looked like this (Editorial comments in red added for your enjoyment): This was January of 2019. Yes, I was banned almost immediately without a single word of warning.

Initially, I thought it a Facebook hiccup. So I tried to access the site and this was my greeting:

That’s right ‘the page may be visible to an audience you’re not in’. Carmel is known for its inclusivity so I was quite naturally shocked.

This A.M. on a Google search I found out there was a Public site so I checked it out:

But I still got the same message:

So I appealed to the one moderator that I thought had an ounce of sense and honor. The top is my response after Jeff stated there was nothing he could do in the matter. The initial comments are at the bottom of the graphic.

That is right it was out of Jeff Worrell’s control. Later I found out why. Even having his own cable TV self-promotion network, being a Facebook moderator and publishing Good Day Carmel it ends up that Jeff just isn’t good on Facebook. This post got 3 likes because everyone likes Jeff in spite of his virtual impotence on media

Those of us that have dealt with our slippery Government officials know the real reason he is not good on Facebook, he doesn’t want his words used against him.

Jeff if you always tell the truth you really need fear nothing when you put it in writing.

So fast forward nearly one year later and I see these posted. They areĀ  Restaurants owned by another City Councilman, Woody Rider:

and this,

Note there is no indication the above was paid advertising. Is it gratis for elected officials? It certainly seems that way.

Now if you look closely on the lower right side you will see a related page is (drumroll):

City of Carmel, Indiana

Is this or is this not a city site?

Our elected officials get to segment their audience to keep the most gullible for fun, votes, and apparently profit.

This is certainly ethically questionable at a minimum.

If it looks like it, smells like it then please don’t you dare taste it,

stepping in it is proof enough.

Sure looks and smells like a Carmel City site!

and then there was this…

A kind reader sent us the current CSM Admin’s. No one involved with the City of Carmel here now is there?
